PAV Data Systems - Free Space Optical Solutions

Free Space Optics (FSO) provide a point-to-point, infra-red, wireless laser transmission designed for the interconnection of two points which have a direct line-of-sight. The systems operate by taking a standard data or telecommunications signal, converting it into a digital format and transmitting it through free space. The carrier used for the transmission of this signal is infra-red light and is generated by either high power LED or low power laser diode(s).

PAV Data Systems has developed and grown the worlds largest installed base of FSO technology solutions, providing connectivity where other technologies simply cannot reach. With a global presence of over 7,000 installed FSO systems, in all types of terrain and environment, PAV have a truly resilient and proven technology.

Since 2003, Northern Hi-Tec has provided electronic design consultancy and electronic manufacturing services to PAV Data Systems, which has involved the re-design and re-engineering of both the electronics and the mechanics across the whole PAV module range. In 2007, Northern Hi-Tec Ltd acquired PAV Data Systems, to bring the complete box build and testing in-house.
