Northern Hi-Tec Ltd is one of the few UK based contract electronics manufacturers with a genuine electronic design capability. As a result we can offer a 'one stop shop solution' for all of your electronics design and manufacturing requirements.

Because our electronics design team work closely with their Northern Hi-Tec manufacturing colleagues, we have a detailed understanding of the principles behind cost-effective design for manufacture and test. As a result, we are able to seamlessly transfer your product between the design and manufacturing stages under the management of one single point-of-contact. This is a key point, because when dealing with separate design and manufacturing companies', assumptions are often made about each others' capabilities and responsibilities, leading to disappointment and expensive delays.

We undertake design projects from basic design support and feasibility studies for start-up companies, through to complete product design, systems and product integration for blue-chip Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

We employ a core of eight permanent electronics design engineers, providing new and ongoing electronic design consultancy and software development services.

Our electronics design engineers are assisted by front-end PCB layout and Computer Aided Design (CAD) technicians who provide schematic capture, PCB layout and technical drawing to support new product design. The electronics design team can also provide embedded and PC software skills and can write in several programming languages. All software code is structured, documented, and available in accepted standard formats.

Due to the diverse and varied nature of our business, we have developed a broad set of electronics design skills and knowledge covering many types of technologies, including analogue, digital, RF, opto-electronics and embedded computing.
