Senior Design Engineer Vacancy

Role: As Senior Design Engineer, working within a small design team you will be required to provide an advanced level of technical expertise and guidance to other engineers in the department. Sound theoretical understanding of hardware and software design backed up by excellent hands-on approach and practical skills with an advanced level of competency.
Education: Science/Engineering Bachelor's Degree or equivalent proven theoretical electronic/software engineering skills developed during employment.
Skills (required): Proven skills in developing circuit schematics, PCB layout (over 6 layers), circuit simulation (e.g. SPICE), test fixture design, PCB prototyping, EMC pre/full compliance, excellent design review skills. C and assembler for microcontrollers. Excellent software development skills including code review and documentation.
Skills (preferred): Analogue/RF/high speed digital/FPGA/CPLD, PCB/EMC simulation (e.g. Hyperlynx). C++ (win32/MFC/.NET), RTOS development, OS kernel/driver development, VHDL. Experience with PIC, H8, ARM7/9/Cortex and Coldfire. MISRA C. Internet/TCP/IP networked hardware/software development. OOD. Linux.
Experience: At least 5 years working as a design engineer.
You will have excellent communication skills and excel at working closely with customers to clarify project technical objectives and a proven track record of technically guiding a team to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
You will also have good experience of full hardware/software development lifecycle, from prototype development to transferring a design to a production environment, including production/test documentation, test procedures and test fixture development, and post-development customer support such as customer fault determination and customer returns.
Salary: Very attractive rate dependant on experience.
