Design Engineer Vacancy

Role: As a Design Engineer, working within a small design team you will be required to provide support to department design efforts. You should have a good theoretical understanding of hardware and software design backed up by a willingness to learn, practical can-do attitude and good level of design competency.
Education: Science/Engineering Degree or equivalent proven theoretical electronic/software engineering skills developed during employment.
Skills (required): Knowledge of developing circuit schematics, PCB layout, PCB prototyping and fault finding. Software development experience in a high level language (e.g. Java) and low level (e.g. assembler or C)
Skills (preferred): Microcontroller hardware/software development using a variety of sensors and actuators. Experience of Schematic/PCB EDA software.
Experience: Experience working as a design engineer preferred but graduate level (or equivalent proven experience e.g. technician) applicants also accepted.
You will have good communication skills and experience of writing technical/design documentation. You will also have a good understanding of hardware/software development lifecycle.
Salary: Market rates dependant on experience.
